Soul Alignment

All year long, I’ve been thinking about alignment and now that we’re close to the end of the year, I wanted to revisit this concept. Essentially, living in alignment means everything that you do lines up with key principles. Living this way means agreement - whether that be with your faith, morals, values, etc. Now, our soul is comprised of the mind, will, and emotions; when your life is in alignment, they work the way that they should.

But life happens, and trauma can disrupt how we think, feel, and behave which oftentimes causes other problems in our lives. It’s no different from a car, sudden accidents or the daily wear and tear of driving can cause misalignment in your tires, which can lead to other long-lasting problems with your car. Ultimately, this can be dangerous for you and other drivers on the road.

However, there is a solution. In Philippians 2:5 (KJV) it says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” When life doesn’t seem to be working right, God is reminding us that there needs to be agreement between our mindset and our faith. Getting in alignment can mean:

  1. Daily prayer

  2. Practicing scriptures and other positive affirmations

  3. Seeking support through counseling

Eating healthy and daily exercise can also help your body get into agreement with your improved mindset. Though life comes with accidents, hurt, and misfortune that interrupt your functioning, God wants your body, soul, and spirit in alignment so you can fully experience life.
